The York and North Yorkshire Data and Intelligence Partnership (YNYDIP) (Formerly York and North Yorkshire Research Forum) holds regular Research Seminars for the wider research network on topics and recent research projects that are of interest across sectors.

Seminar

A full update of the Progress in York and North Yorkshire report is now published every three years.  2008 does however see the second annual light touch review which summarises how the sub region is performing in between publications of the full document.

What does the Future hold for York and North Yorkshire? - Wednesday 24th October 2007 - Bedern Hall, York

Will traditional seaside towns be a thing of the past? What role will our Market Towns play in the future? Will our rural communities become more isolated? Will the York and North Yorkshire economy continue to grow?

York and North Yorkshire Data and Intelligence Partnership (YNYDIP) recently hosted an Autumn research seminar on how the future will look for the sub region.

Delegates were able to listen to a number of perspectives on future scenarios, and have the opportunity to contribute to the discussion with their questions and thoughts. Presentations were from Yorkshire Forward, University of York and Scarborough Borough Council.

Launch of Progress in York and North Yorkshire 2007 Update

A full update of the Progress in York and North Yorkshire report will now only be published every three years. Instead, on an annual basis, a light touch review will be published with the aim to update and summarise how the sub region is performing in between publications of the full document.
 
The first annual update has recently been produced and the York and North Yorkshire Data and Intelligence Partnership (YNYDIP) held an event to launch the Progress in York and North Yorkshire Update 2007.

Information Seminar on Migrant Workers - Thursday 15th February 2007 - Hilton Hotel, York

YNYDIP recently held a breakfast information giving seminar to provide partners working in York and North Yorkshire with an insight into some of the issues surrounding Migrant Workers. 

Some of the issues which were covered in the three presentations included the methodological problems of collating robust data about migrant workers, how the migrant workforce affects the local labour market and what research is currently being carried out which may answer some of the questions surrounding this topic.

Consultation Seminar for the York and North Yorkshire Rural Evidence Base - 9th November 2006

At the end of 2006, the York and North Yorkshire Data and Intelligence Partnership (YNYDIP) held a consultation seminar for the York and North Yorkshire Rural Evidence Base at Askham Bryan College. A sub regional Rural Evidence Base is still currently being produced to provide more robust and in depth analysis of North Yorkshire’s rural areas in order to establish a model of measuring progress and prioritising activity

This event was an opportunity for partners to take part in workshop sessions and activities to contribute to establishing the future priorities for investment in rural North Yorkshire, particularly in three of the areas which will be covered by the Rural Evidence Base; Rural Business Development, Access to Services and Rural Transport.

Launch of Progress in York and North Yorkshire 2006 Seminar - 16th August 2006

A seminar took place at St William's College in York on 16th August 2006 to launch the third edition of Progress in York and North Yorkshire.

The report was produced annually by the York and North Yorkshire Partnership Unit on behalf of the York and North Yorkshire Data and Intelligence Partnership.

The aim of the launch was to give attendees an opportunity to delve into the contents of Progress in York and North Yorkshire in more detail, through a series of presentations.
