Partnerships Overview
Partnerships Overview
York and North Yorkshire partners have developed a
partnership structure which supports and contributes to the Sub Regional
Investment Plan process.
An overview of this partnership structure is given below, and
further details of each partnership can be accessed by clicking on the links.
York and North Yorkshire Development Board has
overall responsibility for the York and North Yorkshire sub regional partnership
and in particular gives final approval to the Sub Regional Investment Plan. It
also ensures that there are effective processes for decision making on
strategies, policies and projects within the sub region, which involve a wide
range of partners.
The York and North Yorkshire Partnership Executive is a group
of Chief Executives and senior officers from key agencies along with
representatives from the private and voluntary sectors that have significant
responsibilities for economic and community regeneration. It is
responsible to the York and North Yorkshire Development Board for its work.
Learning Partnerships are a network of non-statutory,
voluntary groupings of local learning providers from sectors, supported by the
Department for Education and Skills. In York and North Yorkshire there
are two main partnerships, one for York and one for North Yorkshire. However
given the geographical scale of the county of North Yorkshire, each district has
an Area Learning Partnership as well. The partnerships have close working
relationships.
The Social Inclusion Partnership was set up in 2004 and has
representation from all the LSPs, as well as key agencies such as Jobcentre
Plus, Learning and Skills Council, Yorkshire Forward, North Yorkshire Forum for
Voluntary Organisations, housing and Primary Care Trusts. The Partnership
is responsible for ensuring social inclusion is embedded in the other themes
within the Sub Regional Investment Plan.
